Carla García-Fernández has been committed to educate, learn from, and grow with Deaf, DeafBlind, Deaf Disabled, Hard of Hearing (DBDHH) Latinxs, as well as other DBDHH of Color and marginalized groups through joint dialogue and collaborative research on multiple intersectional identities and social justice issues. Carla studies intersectional identities, social justice—particularly in education, critical race studies, Deaf-Latinxs critical studies, and multilingual/multicultural education. Carla is an assistant professor in the Deaf Studies department at the California State University in Northridge.
